The UNLV softball team picked up its third series win in Mountain West play with its 12-9 victory over the New Mexico Lobos Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M. The Rebels triumph was aided by a trio of home runs that produced half of their run production.
The UNLV track & field team concluded its stay at the 56th Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., at Hilmer Lodge Stadium Friday. The Rebels highest finish a fourth-place showing in the 4x100m relay by the quartet of Erin Morris, Monay Meggs, Ashley Franklin and Kenia Bonilla. The foursome ran a time of 45.99, which was 1.04 behind that of Central Florida's group that won the event.
One day after suffering a tough loss to the New Mexico Lobos, the UNLV Rebels rebounded in a major way with a 10-2, five-inning victory Friday in Albuquerque, N.M. UNLV's offense was sparked by Emily Haslinger, who led the team in RBI (seven), hits (three) and runs (three). In all, the team registered 14 hits with at least one coming from each starter.
The UNLV softball team dropped a heartbreaker Thursday to the New Mexico Lobos by one run, 11-10, at Lobo Softball Field in Albuquerque, N.M. The game featured 21 runs with eight - four apiece - of those coming in the seventh and final frame. UNLV (17-24 overall, 7-6 Mountain West) entered its final at-bat trailing by one and came up with four to take a three-run advantage only to see UNM (13-27, 4-9) rally to win by a run.
The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed national letter of intent from Rashad Vaughn and a signed financial aid agreement from Cody Doolin during the first week of the spring signing period, head coach Dave Rice announced Thursday. Both student-athletes will enroll at UNLV this summer.
