The UNLV cross country team will send five of its own to Sacramento, Calif., to participate in the 2013 NCAA West Regional on Friday. The meet, which is being hosted by Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course, will feature student-athletes from 37 universities from five different states (California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington).
The UNLV Rebels close out a two-week run of road matches with their trip to the northern portion of the Silver State to play in-state rival Nevada, Reno on Saturday. The match, which was originally slated for a 7:00 pm first serve, will begin at 1:00 pm to accommodate the Wolf Pack's home football game against San Jose State later that evening.
After opening the season with a 67-48 win over Portland State, then losing to UC Santa Barbara (86-65) on Tuesday, the UNLV men's basketball team will continue its season-opening six-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 15, against Omaha at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The UNLV men's golf program received signed national letters of intent from Shintaro Ban, Ben Davis and John Oda during the first day of the early signing period, head coach Dwaine Knight has announced. They will all enroll at UNLV next fall as freshmen.
UNLV and BYU battled back and forth for the first 32 minutes of the contest, until a late 7-0 run put the Cougars ahead for good in a 71-64 win on Tuesday afternoon by BYU over the Lady Rebels in women's college basketball action from the Thomas & Mack Center.
