The UNLV volleyball team closed out its run of three road matches in a span of five days with a 3-0 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs at Peterson Gym on Monday. With the loss, UNLV drops to 14-11 overall and 9-6 in the Mountain West, while SDSU improves to 13-12 and 8-7, respectively.
The UNLV women's basketball team will host former league rival BYU in a doubleheader on Tuesday at 4 pm in the Thomas & Mack Center. Following the game, the Runnin' Rebels will face UC Santa Barbara at 7 pm.
Coming off a win to open the regular season on Friday against Portland State (67-48), the UNLV men's basketball team will continue its season-opening six-game homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 12, against UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will again be part of a doubleheader with women's basketball as the Lady Rebels will host BYU at 4 p.m.
The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a dual meet at BYU on Saturday afternoon, as the No. 25/18 Rebel men evened their record at 2-2 with a 160-140 win, while the UNLV women (0-4) were handed a 198-102 setback.
In a wild contest, UNLV nearly came away with a shorthanded tie, but would instead fall 4-3 at Bakersfield in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday night in WAC men's soccer action at the Main Soccer Field.
The UNLV volleyball team fought back from a 2-0 deficit only to fall in five sets - 3-2 - to the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday at The Event Center in San Jose, Calif. UNLV dropped the first two frames 25-21 and 25-20 before it evened up the score at 4-all behind 25-21 and 25-13 wins in the third and fourth, respectively. Unfortunately, the Spartans won eight of the final 13 points of the fifth after they had snapped a 7-all tie.
