The community is invited to attend a dedication ceremony for the Jerry Tarkanian Legacy Project, which includes a statue unveiling to commemorate the legendary Runnin’ Rebels coach.
3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Thomas & Mack Center outdoor plaza (where T&M, Cox Pavilion and Mendenhall Center meet)
The Jerry Tarkanian Legacy Project honors the career and contributions of Hall of Fame basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian to the game of basketball, UNLV, and Southern Nevada. The project has covered the funding of the design, creation and installation of the statue and will establish a scholarship fund in his name. All funding for the project has come from private donations.
Coach Tarkanian and his family, benefactors Chip and Helen Johnson, sculptor Brian Hanlon, head men's basketball coach Dave Rice, and campus officials are scheduled to attend.
Visit OneForTark.com for more information on the Jerry Tarkanian Legacy Project.
Media: Interview opportunities will be available inside the Mendenhall Center at a private VIP Reception shortly after the ceremony concludes.
